Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh
We wish to update that we have entered into a Sales Agreement to purchase the building next door to the mosque, at 5 Tui Street, Taihape. We have managed to get a valuation done on the property and proposed subdivided land. Valuation here.
The owners (Taihape Heritage Trust) of that building are in need of cash to refurbished the Heritage Cinema and as a result of this, thought that by selling off some fixed assets which they have, they could raise the needed money.
This is an opportunity not to be missed as they would like to sell it to us so that we could have a bigger centre, to be able to accommodate a ladies prayer hall and a small classroom for weekend classes.
The target for the project of $75,000NZD by end of February 2018. Any surplus from the target amount will be used to fund the next phase of the project (which is to engage an architect for building drawing) InshaAllah.
If you would still like to donate for the next phase of the project, you are more than welcome.
To all that have helped us in making this project, may Allah swt reward your deeds.
AD-DEEN MOSQUE EXTENSION - SEEKING DONATION.
The Ad-Deen Mosque Taihape Islamic Centre (left) has been officially opened on the 6th December 2014. Ad-Deen Taihape Islamic Trust, who owns the waqaf building is now in the phase of negotiation to purchase the neighbouring property (see picture on left- building is the white and green next to the existing mosque) for a women prayer hall and a classroom for weekend classes.
The mosque is located within walking distance from the Inter-City and Naked bus stop (200m) which is outside the Taihape Town Hall and iSite. Public parking are plenty around the building and there are bus bays just 20m from where the building is located.
WHY A MOSQUE AND ISLAMIC CENTRE HERE?
The nearest Mosque or Islamic Centre from Taihape is in Palmerston North which is one and a half hour drive south. So, a Muslim travelling along SH1 will not see another Islamic Centre from Lake Taupo to Palmerston North which is about three hours drive. An Islamic Centre in between them would be an ideal stopover for Musafirs to perform their obligatory prayers.
